the FA Cup is open to all professional teams in ENGLAND, playing against each other in a single match unless the match ended in a draw where it will be replayed.
teams from the lower leagues will play in the qualifying rounds beginning in August while teams from the English League One & League Two will play in the 1st round. teams from the Premiership & League Championship will only enter the competition in the 3rd round.
there are no seedings for the FA Cup draw, all teams are drawn ramdomly so there is a potential upsets.

All participants have to apply to the FA to be included, even League clubs. One club forgot a few years back and couldn't take part.
