OK, we want to see something old so that means nothing new or close to it. We love movies like night of the living dead etc. but we also don't want to see a lot of people die for no reason. We don't like a hell of a lot of dialouge either, otherwise it becomes 'Red Dragon' and not 'House On Haunted Hill'. I want to be able to watch a few movies only to try to go to sleep at 4am and not be able to. We just want to watch something really scary!!!

Try watching The Changeling. A terrific ghost story and mystery starring George C. Scott. Great Shivers!
Some classics from the 1940's:
Cat People
The Body Snatcher
or from the 50's,
The first House on Haunted Hill, with Vincent Price.
The Tingler, also with Vincent Price
or,
The original 13 Ghosts (1960)
The Haunting (1963)

One older movie comes to mind....The Haunted Palace with Vincent Price. When I saw it at the theater years ago, I remember it keeping me on the edge of my seat.

Halloween, Halloween II, and An American Werewolf in London are all classics. And they're short, so you should get through a few of them in a relatively short time.
