if i update my anti virus before scanning will it automatically removed the old viruses by just updating or i still need to scan to remove the old viruses incase there is, and what is your advice, scan first or update first then scan

No. Updating your antivirus software just supplies new definitions of what is and is not a virus. You have to run a scan to use those definitions.

scan first then update and scan again just incase something came through with the update..viruses have many different ways to get in your pc it is known that hackers and experts make viruses thats why some are hard to get rid of and detect.. be smart be careful and back up your pc frequently

You are correct The antivirus has to remove automatically , if it is uptodate. If needed you can delete the files manually. There may be spywaresalso to be detected and deleted. You need a suitable antispyware. There are a number of antivirus and anti spyware in the market. Some are free and some are to be purchased. After each update run a manual scan. I can give a few links that offer free virus and spyware removers...!You may be having a virus or spyware installed on your PC. Norton, AVG , Avast are free antivirus software. Ad-aware, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at

You have to run the scan again. Do it offline. It might automatically run or at least prompt you to run a scan as soon as it is updated.
If it doesn't then you probably need to buy a better antivirus.
