I agree. It's fun, but not worth all the hype.

Making love to the special person you were meant to be with is nothing less than amazing. It's an emotional bond when two people who love each other more than anything else melt into one. There's nothing over rated about that. I'm sorry you think this way but you just haven't found the right partner yet.

yes and no. it probably depends on your expectations. in the words of someone with a clue: "what is repressed will be obsessed (about)". in this culture where sex is thought of, still, by many, to be "dirty', it naturally becomes a subject matter for strange behavior and deviance. moreover, unless it is understood to be an opportunity for a deep level of sharing at all levels of being, in the spirit of tantric practice, for example, it becomes merely one more empty, shallow activity for the stimulation and diversion of the many. at that level it would become repetitious and, relatively, meaningless. it should be an expression of love, of course, and also, of the union of the masculine and feminine energies, leading, if you're fortunate, to the experience of enlightened consciousness. if only for a brief moment. a rare event from what i've heard.

My initial reaction is that you haven't had a good partner. But I don't want to presume, or disrespect you.

I have, in the past, often felt that sex was more trouble than it was worth (I am female). In my early twenties, I had it in the hopes to have the other love me. In my thirties, I had it when I could get it. In my forties...I am less concerned with my body, I am more adventuresome...and I have an amazing partner. Yes, we make love occasionally - and its lovely. But the sex - when we have it - is GREAT!!!!

Don't give up...and please don't keep that as your overall attitude...cause it will be evident to others...and will eliminate the possibility of you finding a great partner...and a great sex life.

By the way, great sex has nothing to do with how often you have it. Quality, not quantity!

Its exploited and sold...doesn't that make it underrated? Cheapened?

Sex is nothing special by itself...but with love it can't be cheapened, no matter how it is presented in the media, etc.

Yes I totally agree, I wish most men understood this so that they would not trade in Quality of life for one night meaningless short-lived stands.

Holy s.hit, you are absolutely right. It's massively overrated.

Probably if we didn't have the media telling everyone who doesn't constantly waste their time thinking about sex - the *most wonderful and amazing thing on earth* - that they must be abnormal, things wouldn't be so irritating.

P.S. Vibrator over stinking, sweaty, awkward, desperate boy any day.

It's all in people's head. Knowing what it really is, still do it,
then it's only a delusion.

Sometimes, but then sometimes not. You really have to look for the one person who isn't not expletive with or for.
