Buy baby supplies for when your grandchild comes to visit. Its way easier than carting playpens and stuff back n forth. Buy a portable swing... and be rpepared to be MAIN babysitter!!

IF you are looking for a unique gift....a gift that will include all the items YOU KNOW your grandchild will need but that most people won't think of (teething gel, gas drops, etc)....and some items baby can have fun with (teething toys, carseat toys, plush animals, rattles, keys, etc). plus some simple essentials (baby powder, baby bath, Diaper Creme, receiving blankets). GET A DIAPER CAKE to take to the shower!!!

Enjoy it, you will have all the perks of having a baby but at the end of the day you can return them to their parents. As a grandparent you will have the right to spoil them and just have fun. Congrats and Good luck.

Just relax and enjoy! I just gave my mom her first Grandson (first grand baby) 3 months ago..she knew that she would love him before he was born..but once he arrived..she lost her mind..lol in a good way!!! she enjoys him sooo much..it is a beautiful thing to see!!!! Congrats!!!

Grandkids are sooo much more fun than kids, you can love & spoil them and then send them home when they get cranky. Also, they'll adore you. Do what you can to help mom, but be sure not to usurp her responsibilities. I have two, with one more due in July, and they are the joy & lights of our lives. Congratulations!
