Yes, definitely. Now without Shaq, the Lakers are no longer a basketball powerhouse and Kobe Bryant, averaging somewhere near 30 points a game every season, is the only reason why the Lakers are making the playoffs.

Last year yes! This year no. It will be the whole teams effort. Lakers have an excellent supporting cast this year. With the exception of Vlad, Farmar and Evans; the players that returned from last season have a better understanding are more knowledgeable and more experienced with the triangle offense.
I honestly think the Lakers could make some noise in the Playoffs. Possibly make it to the Conference Finals!!

last night Kobe showed he can pass the ball around too- scoring only 8 points but also 10 assists AND allowing 5 (i think) of his teammates score double digits. The lakers are currently second right now, with a record of 22-11, And Golden state is behind them 17-17, so yes, the lakers will make the playoffs, but because of a team effort, not just kobe's effort.

Its not the only reason but its the main reason. If they even contend they will need Kobe to come up big time. When Lamar Odom and Kwame Brown come back i actually think that this team can compete with anybody, and when you have the best player in the world you never know what can happen in the playoffs.
