I think that's the silliest idea I've ever heard. If anything, Israel is planning to make a deal with Iran to divide up the Middle East and its oil.

Moltar - Iran is as capable of BSing about destroying Israel, as Israel is about launching a nuclear attack.

The realpolitik is, their common enemy is the Arabs and they have no reason to attack each other.

This is what Drudge is reporting as "breaking news". Again, I think it's nonsense, but judge for yourself.

There have been predictions that the Americans will sacrifice Israel as a way of retreating from Iraq.

This will not help anything and will send out a warning to allies of the U.S. that they will be abandoned when the going gets tough.

This must be resisted at all levels.

I suppose anything is possible, but for me, this would have to go in the column of being highly unlikely. Besides, further research shows that Iran's lunatic fringe Prez is receiving some heavy opposition from within regarding his aggressive stance toward Israel as well as the nuclear enrichment program.

It is just possible that cooler heads will prevail inside Iran and defuse this before it becomes an issue that might involve others. Let's hope anyway. More likely I think that Iran will start undergoing it's own internal strife before too long. Many forces at work here...many and varied.

Good question.

O.K.Here's the lowdown.
1.Of course Israel has plans to attack Iran with tactical nuclear weapons.
2.In my opinion they will wait until there is absolutlely no hope of negotiating Iran out of pursuing nuclear power and research.
3.Then we see if Israel's F-15's can dodge Iranian Tor SAMs and
dogfight with Sukhoi Flankers.
4.If so then mushroom cloud time.
5.What happens next is anybody's guess, but the USA will support Israel or what's left of it after Iran goes nuts and attacks with everything it has.
6.Then it could be good bye Iran.

It's not too far fetched, especially as Iran continues to develop it's nuclear capabilities.

You really think Israel would cut a deal with a government bent on their destruction?

EDIT - missed the Israel nuke part... they've alluded to it, but they can hit Iran, at will, conventionally.

Since Iran and Israel hate each other, I'm not seeing the deal. But I am betting on Israel owning Iran if they try and pull anything,

No, not at all. Israel hasn't even attempted an invasion of Iran.
And, if they nuked Iran, the entire Middle East would do their best to bring them down, they'd invite international condemnation, and they'd lose our (American) support. It would be suicide for the Israeli state.
