I'm a beer-drinking, sports watching masculine man but I find it offensive when men refer to their wives as their "old lady".

I ask that the term not be used. I get told to "lighten up", not be "anal" or get asked who "pissed in my cornflakes".

I'm nowhere close to "anal" or "uptight". I just don't like the term for its lack of respect.

What do you think?

OMG! I can't believe there is actually a man out there who doesn't like that either! It is so disrespectful. My husband sometimes refers to me as his "old lady" and I absolutely hate it! I can't understand why it isn't "cool" for a man to actually like his wife/gf???

It is kind of offensive and sexist.

It's bad enough when ignorant motorcycle gang types refer to their wife or girlfriend as "my old lady" but when people with jobs and homes that don't have wheels on them say it, it's also extremely pathetic.

Your friends need to stop being stupid and sexist - THEY'RE the ones with the problem, not you.

first off - I don't think you are old enough to be a beer drinker and once you get a girlfriend or wife you might change your mind.
