If so, why? Mine has been almost destroyed. Too many bad answers and/or clueless questions. It's amazing, actually.

I sincerely hope it is not representative of people in general.

Excellent Question. Finally... :)

At first, it (Yahoo Answers) was somewhat of a novelty, from the perspective of both answering and asking. Disappointment began to set in with the ever increasing clamor of inane, poorly constructed questions by children and adults alike who are tire-kickers and time-wasters.

The second most annoying aspect of this website is the lack of authentic interest in asking and answering, especially those questions which are abandoned and left in the voting vortex for all eternity.

More despicable than idle time-wasters is outright lying intended to manipulate and mock others. There are those among us who are not only toying with others, but who are engaged in deceitful mockery. I've discovered a prime example of this abuse sadly demonstrated by members such as Verbal Vixen, one who regards members here as lab rats by baiting them with fallacious questions which are poised to evoke "compassionate and caring" responses to fraudulent questions.

While this is initially discouraging, there is purpose to this continued awakening, in that my personal reaction is one of growing resilience and an enhanced sense of discernment.

Such are the follies of Free Speech, the reality of the existence of a shadow self as an aspect of human behaviour, and the ensuing growing pains of dawning awareness.

It has neither decreased nor increased my personal faith in humanity, yet it does serve to add to my own observations of life and people.

No way! This is just a website. No more no less. Some people just throw out answers to gain points...that is sorta the point of it all. Some people do ask dumb questions but...yea just ignore them. This site doesn't represent all of humanity. That would be crazy. I've asked some serious questions and got some seriously helpful answers.

Done the financial boards a lot. Didn't see anything here that changed my view of humanity, which was not all that high in some cases to start with. You should have read the MSO board at the time of the Martha Stewart trial. It just did not get much lower than that. -Dio

It hasn't done much to affect my faith in humanity, but has reassured me of my feelings and opinions on the modern education system and it's failings, and the broad loss of standards, values, and any degree of self-respect in society.

I still believe, however, that most people are generally good, when given circumstances in which they can help others less fortunate. In this forum, one can easily get a deceptive perception of inhumanity because of the ease of disassociating one's self from the equation, and many of these people would not say the things they say here if the person asking them was right in front of them, whether they want to admit it or not.

That's because the rest of the world is out living and doing things. The ones (present company excluded) that sit in front of a computer screen have no life and because of their own inequities, can't come up with anything better to do than stew in their own crap and share it with others here.

It's made me suprised that some people can get from point A to point B without assistance. I guess that's why some of them are here. Not all just some...

I have to agree with you. There is very little thought put into many of the answers, and the questions are pretty lame. I won't even get into my concerns about spelling, punctuation, grammar, etc., etc.!

seems that a lot of the folks here seem to hide behind the anonymity of this site and are just giving smart remarks. that's a disappointment

I'm with you on this one...... To correct that problem, I still like the idea of removing all the safety warning labels from everything and let the problem sort itself out.
