Actually you can learn to be aware while in your dreams. Its called lucid dreaming. It looks pretty creepy, but it actually works.

Sometimes, when I dream, not only am I aware that I am dreaming, but then I think about what is going on in the dream while I'm dreaming. If I don't like how the dream is going, I think about changing it to how I would want it to go, and then that's how my dream goes. Kid you not.

Actually, while I'm dreaming most of the time I know I'm dreaming--it's very odd. I think to myself that it's a dream, but I let it guide me to where it wants me to go.

yo...wat do u mean, u can be aware it is a dream state, its called "lucid dreaming"..i just posted a question about it, cuz im tryin to learn to have them, i had a nightmare one time, it was HORRIBLE, everyone i knew died and it felt EXTREMELY real.i thought i was gona die, lol, when i woke up it was so relieving, but i am thinkin, if i was able to control my dream, imagine the possibilities if i was able to control myself in a lucid dream, could do ANYTHING...

WAT **KAL** said was an example of a lucid dream i think, its just she does not take full control of her dream, even tho she can.....

PS. im no expert, just my opinion, bringing forth wat ive read over the last couple days
