Has anyone here ever had a lucid dream? *(which is a dream that feels very realistic and you are in control)*

If so what was the dream and does anyone know how to intentionally have one? through mediation or other ways.?

I've had many lucid dreams. Although lucid dreams are actually knowing you're dreaming while in a dream, and dream control is controlling the dream. It's more enjoyable with both but that's not always so. You can control something in the dream without realizing you're dreaming as well as know you're dreaming yet have no control. It's still amazing being aware you're in a dream, but having control is just obviously better.

I can give some simple suggestions from what's worked for me as well as others I've read about.
Intent and timing.

If you want to lucid dream, often tell yourself so. No need to say it out loud, but if it works, hey. And the best time to try for a lucid dream is after you've been to sleep for 4-6 hours, you get out of bed for 10-20-30 mins (an hour may be too long and it'd be like starting over) then go back to bed. What you're doing is, waking up before you start dreaming so you have the most chance of awareness of being in a dream when you go back to sleep. You get out of bed because just waking up then going back to sleep can be like not waking at all.

I've never tried mediation so I have no right to comment on that although I do believe it's easier to have lucid dreams if you practice mediation.

There's several other techniques that help. If you want to learn more about them, you can try any of the websites I list below.

Lucid dreaming is realizing that you are dreaming when you actually are, or so it was explained to me. During the dream you can change the dream to the ending YOU want. Which is a very empowering state for the human mind.

I don't know how to teach you to do it, although there are some people that claim they can. I only know that I do do it, have since I was a small child. An example is I used to have many dreams that I was being chased by the "devil", in one dream I turned to the "devil" and said "STOP chasing me." Never again was I bothered by the dream. Now when I have a bad dream, I can change it and when I have a good dream I can make it better.

Peace.

I have them all the time. They're generally about people I have crushes on, and going up to them and talking to them, but last night I had a dream where I was the lead soprano in an opera.

There are apparently many devices to make you dream lucid dreams, though I assume they don't work. There's a pill, a kit, tips, and psychosis to cause lucid dreams. They have websites, like www.Lucid-Dreaming-Kit.com, and www.dreamcontrol.uk.com.

I did once. It quickly turned into a wet one, so I won't describe the details. I didn't really do it on purpose, it just happened.
