My sister is prescribed Armour Thyroid pills, her doctor said she could save some money a get the same pills at a vitamin shop. I was on the same in the past and would like to find the OTC or herbal kind.

Has anyone heard of something similar or sold OTC in a different strength? How well did the OTC or herbal pills work for you? And did they work as fast as the prescription kind or was there like a month or two before your condition improved?

I have done some searching on the internet, but I don't if the success stories are real or what.

All info. is appreciated. Thanks & have a good day!

Your sisters doctor is wrong. Raw thyroid sold in a vitamin shop is not the same as Armour thyroid. It's not regulated and often comes from cows. Armour comes from pigs and is USP grade inspected. If your sister wants to save money then she should go with the generic version of Armour.

Nothing ...

Diet and exersize helps but you should never mess with your thyroid. If she needs medication she needs it to survive as you cannot live without what it provides the body either in synthetic form or natural!

There is a website called womentowomen.com that might help?
