why do women try to pass off a fake designer handbag as the real thing? Are they to freaking cheap to buy the real thing? This really annoys me. If I want something bad enough I will find a way to make the money (2nd job, overtime, etc.) to buy it and not pass off a fake..............

Who knows. Either they're unaware that the bag they have is a fake and they just like the style, or they do know it's a fake and want the certain "status" that comes along with owning that type of bag.
However, one should know that buying fakes supports child labor as well as terrorism. It's completely illegal to sell AND buy fakes; and if you think people won't be able to tell, well trust me, there are always people who can. Nothing is tackier than a fake bag. Why not save up your money and either buy the real thing or buy a bag that's cheaper (like from Target or something) and not a fake?
And for those who say "why waste so much money on a bag?" Well, one reason is the quality. My mother has a Louis Vuitton bag that's over 10 years old, and still looks fabulous. Surely she's gotten her moneys worth.
Anyway, my point is, don't buy fakes - they're tacky, of bad quality, and support all sorts of bad operations.

Well to tell you the truth there are different kinds of knock-offs out there. Some are soo real looking others are just plain horrible and make you want to gag bad fashion. The best way to spot a fake is to study what the real version of the handbag is. Also ALWAYS buy your hand bag at a store its made by or like Dillard's, Macy's, or Saks to know its real. Check out the labels website too. PS: If its says made in China or Taiwan its so FAKE. I hope this helped and hope you pick me for best answer!! :-)

Some designer handbags are so terribly overpriced, I wouldn't buy them if I were a millionnaire. All you're paying for is the designer name -- big deal! I'm sure a lot of women can't afford to pay over a thousand dollars for a stupid purse, especially if they have a family to raise, or are on a tight budget. It has nothing to do with "being cheap" if you can't afford something. I would rather spend the money on something more worthwhile, and if there was anything left over, I'd buy a "cheap" fake...LOL! My purse comes from Walmart, and most people think it is a Gucci.

i guess you're just so much better than many. i suppose they like their fake bags for the same reason i like my fake rolex. you can work overtime and a second job if you want; no way am i paying $5k for a watch. still it's kinda cool, and it looks like a rolex. isn't that all the designers are selling anyway, a look? a certain style?
