I am not using it right now, but I'm thinking about getting a samsung k5 and i was wondering if it's illegal to use limewire for an mp3 player. My sister says it is, but i just wanted to check before i do something wrong.

you wouldn't steal a cd from HMV, so why would you download it??

dont be cheap.. they only cost like 99 cents a song

It's not illegal to use Limewire, but it is illegal to download mp3's from Limewire because all of those are illegally distributed, which are breaking copyright laws.

The only way to legally get mp3's is to pay for it or buy a CD, then convert them to mp3's. That is why Apple's iTunes and Napster can get away with offering mp3's for download.

Actually its illegal to download ANYTHING using Limewire , Lemonwire or any " Peer 2 Peer " program. It used to be that it was considered to be OK, as long as it was for your own personal use, and not for sale ... ... but lately these recording companies are taking 12 year olds into court for downloading a few songs. Something about " copyright infringement '. My advice is GO FOR IT ! ---- and good luck.

PS --- let one of your friends download the songs, then copy them from THEIR computer !!!

i have a iPod that is a mp3 player and i get most of my music from downloading from limewire for free. and it isn't illegal unless u make and burn cds out of those songs..

I'm not too sure, i know u can use it 2 download music 2 play on ur computer, as long as u dont make a cd from it or something like that..... for ur own personal use i think might be ok...why dont u go to the website, and read the agreement rules.....

i dont kno wut ur utilising yet while u spotlight the record on ur limewire n then drag it into notwithstanding track library ur mp3 gets its track from then it is going to b there like if u have itunes...then jus drag it from limewire n drop it into the itunes window n itll positioned it in there. if the information on the track is erroneous from limewire n u cant locate the track then seem in ur at present further section and itll b on the suited as wutever it grew to become into copied as! thats the way it works 4 me each and every of the time!

if the music is copyrighted, as most is, then it's illegal. but some bands, like phish and the grateful dead, allow downloads of their material for free.
