It's one of the great spiritual classics. Definitely helpful for growing in the spiritual life. The basic idea is that we can all at any time 'practice' God's presence, no matter what we're doing, simply by making an act of the will to recognize that presence. It means that each moment of our lives is filled with God: we just have to recognize it.

For a somewhat more contemporary application of the same idea, look at the spiritual writings of Frank C. Laubach, for example The Game with Minutes.

It's a great book. I read it several years ago. Actually it's one of my favorite gifts to give people. So i'd definitely recommend it.
