I am a young adult looking for some stylish shoes that would be great for my summer trip to Europe. I want to be able to wear them with most outfits. I love to dress very stylish and I do not want to wear a pair of sneakers.

leather bowling type sneakers are very common in europe amongst the teens and twentysomethings, and are comfortable for walking a lot. pretty much any black leather shoe won't brand you instantly as a tourist (ie target). and while I agree flip flops are incredibly comfortable. you will only see americans wearing them anywhere beyond the beach - likewise with shorts... a pair of flats, or leather sandals would blend in better. and while many european women do wear heels, and they're fun for going out, it really is *a challenge* to walk with them on coblestones (i tried).

A nice pair of black, low heels are good for walking around. In Europe, sneakers are considered unstylish and boorish, so it's good that you don't want to wear them.
If you're going to be doing a lot of walking around, especially in historic towns, go for close-toed black flats. But if you're going more for pleasure and don't plan on doing much walking, low heels should be comfortable.
Also, if you have a little extra spending money and you're in Paris or another fashion capital, buy a pair of shoes! When I went to Europe, I bought a pair of shoes, and they're my favorite part of my wardrobe. I'm always getting complements on them.

Excellent question! Europeans tend to dress a little bit better than Americans so thanks for making an attempt to show them not all Americans are slobs! If you can afford them, probably any Paul Green shoes would work. Also, Taryn Rose shows are quasi-stylish and VERY comfortable -- however, they tend to wear out fast. More affordable options would be any nice looking loafer or the nicer looking athletic-inspired shoes.

I personally think Nike Pumps, I know sneakers are oh so a Faux Pas, but their retro, trendy America. Take a little, give a little. My bro and good friend spent considerable time in Europe, mainly Germany and Italy. I think that would be the best bet for style and comfort.

well i would wear a cute strappy white or brown high heal that doesn't look that dressy and isn't that tall of a heal. close toed flats are really in as well and you can always get away with a pair of flip flops....

You could try a pair of Birkenstocks, some of them are really nice, (like you can get them in silver or purple or whatever) and theyre really really super comfortable and good for walking heaps.
