I am not sure why but I have a very tinny sound when things are played on my computer I have tried everything I can think of. I have downloaded the drivers again but no help.. not sure if I just need a New sound card.

Well... try the basics of:
-Check for loose connections (to speakers and sound card)
-Make sure connections are clean
-See if the problem is with the speakers and not the computer

Try checking the speakers on ur friend's system or on some other system.If it plays good then check for these.
Control panel>>sound and audio devices>>>volume(tab)>>>speaker settings>>>advanced.
check whether u have chosen the correct type of speakers.(desktop stereo speakers,no speakers,....etc.)
