My Top 5

1. Joe Thornton
2. Sidney Crosby
3. Alexander Ovechkin
4. Jarome Iginla
5. Vincent Lecavalier

I think Joe Thornton is the best player overall because of his skill, leadership, and just the overall presence he brings to the ice. I think Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin could eventually be better, but right now it's Thornton. Also, I left Goaltenders off the list because (being one) I don't really think you can compare them to skaters.

Top 5 Goaltenders

1. Martin Brodeur
2. J-S Giguere
3. Marty Turco
4. Ryan Miller
5. Vesa Toskala/Evgeni Nabokov

I put Toskala and Nabokov together because they split time, and do an amazing job of it. Much like Dwayne Roloson and Manny Fernandez had before Roloson was traded to Edmonton. Martin Brodeur, what else can I say. If he keeps on doing what he does, he will break a lot of Patrick Roy's records. And I am happy to see how J-S Giguere has adapted to the new NHL and having to down-size his pads.
