When I turn on my Wii, I can't press any buttons and I don't see a cursor, and the remote doesn't seem to want to sync. Help?

The remote's batteries are new, so they should be fine, so I'm sure that can't be the problem.

This happened to me. You can go to Nintendo.com and check their help, which is what I did, or I can just tell you what they told me to do. :)

When your lights blink like that. It means your controller is no longer sync'd to the Wii. To fix this:

1) Turn the Wii on, and wait until you see that Health and Safety screen, but DO NOT Press A. Just leave it on that screen.
2)Take the back cover off of your remote, and press the little red sync circular button. You will notice the 4 blue LED's flashing now.
3)Open the front cover on the Wii(the one that flips open and is under the reset button, and where you would put an SD Wii Memory card). You will see a Red sync rectangular button there too. Press it.
4)Your Wii will now synchronize with your wiimote, and you should see the LED indicating that the wiimote is now at Position 1.

If the above does not work, there is one last thing you can do. Turn on your Wii, and wait until that Health and Safety screen appears. Hold that red rectangular Sync button that is by the Wii SD Memory slot for 15 seconds. This will clear all the supposedly sync'd remotes from your Wii. Then try the other steps to resync your remote.

Incidentally, I had to do that thing with the 15 seconds before I got mine to re-sync and work properly, but it did.

I had the same problem yesterday. I was Playing zelda for about 3 hours (great fun), But then I decided to take a break. When I came back I thought I'd have a quick game of Wii sport tennis. When I tried to use the controller all of the lights flashed. After a few minutes pressing everything I had a quick look at the Wii Manual, found nothing of use. I then decided to do the old IT trick of turning everything off and back on again at the plug. It worked a treat. if nothing else works turn everything off and on again.

Even if they are new, there could be something wrong with the batteries. Did you try switching the batteries??If not, consult the nintendo services.
