believe it or not I seem to be very stuff oriented. meaning if I am not thinking about what I can get. I'm thinking about how to get it. how do I stop.

You have to develope a complete satisfaction with your life as it is.

Think about how many hours you have to work to pay for the stuff. Think about how much time and energy you have to spend taking care of it. Think about others who don't have even the stuff to survive and how you could help them.

I like the book Affluenza. It makes a lot of good points about this issue.

Start spending your available money on experiences rather than things--e.g. go to a musical performance rather than buy a CD. Also, write down every thing you buy. This will make you more conscious of your spending.

well, if you seek the path out of materialism, surround yourself in friends, and make them the closest friends in the world, then you have no need for "stuff" because you already have what matters most or somethin like that.
