There are 4 Types of iPods, one is discontinued. First... iPod Video 30 Gigabytes, and 80 Gigabytes (used to be 30 and 60 gigs but they redid them) and then the iPod Nano which comes in 1,2,4 and 8 Gigs in many colors, Silver, pink, green, blue. There were White and Black, just like what the videos look like, but they have been redone to look like the mini's. Also , an iPod Shuffle (crappy) They do not have screens, and you can not select your songs. They do not hold much 512 mb (1/2 gigs) and 1 Gig. They have been redone also into a little small square colors black and white. They were a white small stick. Then the one that was discontinued is the iPod mini, like the iPod nano, except bigger, and they do not have colors on the screen. They can be found on ebay and stuff, but not in stores. They also have had old iPod generations which are now discontinued. But if you have a tight budget for iPods, then those are ones you might want to look at. They are pretty crappy though. The Video is the BEST iPod you can get though. It is the only one, that can play videos and can hold so much. That is the one I have. When iPod was redone, they were not. The style is still the same, and so are the prices.

I think it depends on how much music you want to carry arround: if you want to carry a lot around chose the high memory ones (60GB, U2 etc.) if not try the nanos (1000 ish songs).

I personally have the first generation ipod mini which I find adequate even though it 'only' holds about 1000 songs. Also might be nice if it had a colour screen but there's no trouble for you I think as all the ipods now (provided there is a screen) have colour screens.

Their is the ipod nano which is good if you like small and dont have that much music. Then their is the ipod video it is good and plays videos and can store alot of music. So it just depends on what you like the best

Just got the 80 gig ipod and it is great. For the price difference between them, it was worth going for the biggest memory.

I really like the new iPod shuffle. No hassle with a screen, and holds about 240 songs, i get up to 16hrs. of battery life, and it has a clip! You can put it any were, and all ways looks great!
