Reading Romeo and Juliet out loud can be very uncomfortable, because the language is so very different from our English of today. What I used to do is try to grasp the phrase first, and then SPEAK it, instead of "reading" it. That helps a little, but you should just realize that EVERYONE is going to feel uncomfortable trying to read/speak the strange language of Shakespeare. What your English teacher is probably trying to do is to help EVERYONE understand it better by hearing it out loud instead of reading the cold page silently. I'm sure you did just fine! It's Shakespeare! ---not the language of today.

Mild social anxiety is perfectly natural and more common than you would think.

Most people are a little nervous when they read out loud in front of a group.

The best way to deal with this is to practice reading out loud at home. As you get more comfortable, you will get more comfortable doing it at school.

Good luck.

It happens to me a lot too. Just practice reading out loud at your house. Everytime you read in front of a crowd you will feel this way but the more you do it the better you will get.

It is natural to feel shy about speaking in front of a large crowd. I did too. But once you get further in life, this is something you will encounter at least once in life. This website talks about what you can do to feel more comfortable speaking in front of a large crowd
