just like americans have kifferent catagories for music such as r&b, alternative, rock, heavy metal, easy listening, soul, pop, country, etc.... spanish music has the same u have salsa, merengue, bachata, reggaeton, rap, mambo, bolero, rock, romanticos and the list goes on. hope that helps :)
