Political correctness stifles serious discussion. If you can't discuss sensitive issues, nothing gets fixed. It just goes underground.

Also PC is a reflection that people in America today feel they have some legal right not to be offended. Well, show me where it says THAT in the Constitution. Almost ANYONE can find SOMETHING to be offended by. If you think you have a RIGHT not to be offended, you'll be on the look out for it.

If I say something you don't like, well boo-F*cking-hoo. Get over it! And the same goes for something you say I don't like.

The purpose of PC is as a substitute for common sense. Smoking laws, a substitute for common sense. Seat belt laws, a substitute for common sense. Allow me to explain:

What is the purpose of seat belt laws; are the American people too dumb to know that seat belts save lives? Apparently they are, but recognize that out of everything on this list, this one was endorsed by the Conservatives. Not everything on this list is the left's fault, in case that was what you were looking for.

Smoking laws, these were endorsed by the left. However, they concern smoking in areas where other people reside. Children, possible asthmatics, the whole purpose of making it so that people in certain states can't smoke virtually anywhere is so that they won't kill everybody else with they're deadly habits. I could care less if they smoke 17 boxes of cancer sticks an hour, but the law was passed because they thought everybody else wanted to breathe that smoke. Everybody in my family that smokes does so out of the vicinity of everybody else, if these people had too, there would be no smoking laws.

And finally, the big one: Political Correctness. The unwritten law that states that you cannot call Mexicans wet-backs, Blacks n*ggers, and Arabs ragheads. Hmmm, why would someone pass something like this? Clue; just the same as the above, someone on the left decided, since common sense won't kick in for so many, why not make it mandatory to use it?

Repubs hate PC because it prevents them from calling blacks "*******" or Hispanics "spicks" or women "cu*ts", or any of the other epithets the right uses for people that aren't exactly like them.

It's having absolutely no negative effect on America.

Yes.
We don't want to racial profile because it will offend people.
If all terrorists, murderers, and thieves were blond haired blue-eyed women - search me - I have nothing to hide.

But let us stop blacks and Arabs and all hell breaks loose.

I am SO NOT PC! I am not a racist either. I call it as I see it.

Yes. Archie Bunker is rolling in his grave.

I think we need a new law. It should read, "It doesn't matter who gets hurt, so long as it's funny". That would end 90% of this PC crap.

You're right, it's long over due that we stop respecting the religious rights' fantasy beliefs for fear of offending them. We've entertained their evil stupidity and allowed them to retard progress long enough.
