Nope ... not gonna happen.

CD's and DVD's are recorded differently, a CD drive will not read a DVD even though a DVD drive will read a CD.

Everyone is right, except the guy who said they are not cheap, you can get a DVD drive for around $35. Got to newegg.com.

One way you could do it would be to purchase an external dvd drive and connect that (through a usb port) to your computer. Using just the current configuration, no.

there is no way for u to watch DVD movies that u rent or buy
BUT
u can watch movies if u burn them urself
they have to be
# 1.....under 700mb....if the movie is over 700 mb..it will not fit on the cd
# 2u have to use something like nero..or sonic to burn movie as data....make a data cd
# 3 u have to have CODECS here are the 2 u will need
the first one is for audio..download...ac3 filter.exe
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=66022&package_id=63808
this next one is for video
http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/
they are both free
here is a good site to download from
search for axxo
http://www.mininova.org/search/?search=axxo
in order to download these movies u will need
bitcomet
http://www.filehippo.com/download_bitcomet/
once u have them downloaded...all movies will go to
c/downloads
start..double click my computer..click downloads..there are movies or what ever u download
or u can burn and watch
bin/cue files
