I recently received a citation for misdemeanor larceny for attempting to take $90 worth of goods from a store in north carolina. There are errors on my citation for my birth date and more importantly the time of the incident 5:30am instead of 5:30 pm. Also, where I was supposed to sign it reads "Delivered" and I did not sign the ticket. Do I have a chance based on the time error if I plead not guilty. If not what can I expect as a sentence

The errors regarding your birth date are not very substantial since the law enforcement officers can determine your identity with firgerprinting and other methods should the case require this. The time specified could be critical if you can prove that you were not there at that time. By signing, or not signing, the citation does not admit guilt or deny guilt for that matter. It will keep you from getting a bench warrant for non-appearance at your first court date since the question regarding service to the proper defendant is in doubt. It really has little effect on your case.

Doesn't matter about the time/DOB error. Plead guilty and get it over with. If you're lucky you'll get a fine, probation, and have to pay restitution.
The "delivered" just means the cop handed the citation to you. Used to be in NC you had to sign the citation promising you would appear in court. They don't require that anymore. I guess too many people signed and didn't show up or people refused to sign the citation.

No, those errors will not be sufficient for the court to throw out the charge.

Here (Missouri) you would be looking at a $300-$500 fine, or maybe 15 days.

Castrate him, then send him home, far south of the Border with biometric ID that means he will be promptly apprehended and dealt with more severely following any reappearance in the U.S. Or we can take the illegals approach and try more of the reasoning many of us are inexplicably expected to read and believe curiously deluded individuals think they've offered as an argument in support of the criminals. Let's say for argument sake a crazed tea partier (okay, Brown Beret much more likely, thought I'd throw libs a bone) shows exceptional sniper skills while planting a bullet in President Barack Obama's head. The assassin promptly hires the Nation's premiere Hispanic criminal lawyer who assembles a complete Dream Team. Like every other Latino and typical leftist here, they come up with a familiar strategy each of the rest of us are being asked to read many times every day. The argument: John Hinckley shot President Reagan back in the 80's, Lee Harvey Oswald shot President Kennedy back in the 60's, and our first Republican President, Abraham Lincoln, was assassinated a century earlier by John Wilkes Booth. To add a measure of realism here, as an aside, I had a relative close to the 1863 assassination while serving as Lincoln's private secretary, which may have contributed to a fascination of that Civil War period for me. For those of you still with me, let's try to imagine the Court is just as impressed with the Latino Dream Team's argument as we’re supposed to be here, so naturally the decision of the Court and ruling is that the assassin must promptly be released. There were, after all, prior assassination attempts, several of which were successful. How could this latest assassin be held accountable under such circumstances? Maybe we could add a twist to the hypothetical situation and imagine, instead, it was President Calderone who was shot and killed on a visit to our Country while trying to argue on behalf of open borders and protecting his peons rights to more social services and programs than our citizens are entitled to, as the invaders ignore immigration, criminal, and civil laws at astounding rates. From the arguments we get here, it should be reasonable to believe our neighbors to the south would be satisfied with slapping the killers wrists, maybe bruising his hands, spit on him a few times, then, of course, he must be released. Since that's how Mexicans and extreme liberals indicate they fully expect accountability and avoidance of the law to be handled, I'm sure President Calderone's killer would be welcomed and treated like one of the gang upon release south of the Border. GET REAL!!! No one here is that dumb. Americans are simply not as gullible as your incredibly thin arguments suggest you think we are! All you need to do is go back to the first sentence for the solution which would provide a real measure of justice. Castrate him. He will absolutely never again be amongst the astounding numbers of repeat criminal offenders from the illegal Hispanics who thumb their noses at our laws.
