If so, why?

Assuming that reproduction is neither an issue nor the goal of the union.

This is a theoretical question. I am not looking for myself ;)

Also, "it is against the law" is not an argument, as gay marriage becomes more and more popular and also was against the law once.

"It's sick" is also not an argument. At least if you approve of gay marriage.

Do you the difference between a theoretical and a rhetorical question? Jesus. What is the average age on these boards?

well for me personaly i wouldnt do it. but for others it might be real love. sometimes love can do some crazy things to people. i know a couple here in my town who aren't from this state, their from far away, they married and they look exactly alike too, they have three kids. the boy is so smart you would never believe he is from a brother sister marriage. this couple didnt know they were kin until they were married and had their kids. the father recently died and she is lost. love is love i guess no matter what.

Well if she looked like carmen Electra, I might be as opposed to it as I am right now...lol. But seriously, I think it's wrong whether reproduction is an issue or not. Neither should religion or the law be a factor. I suppose a lot would have to do with the closeness of the relative. is it a cousin? or is it your sister? Could make a difference in the responses you get.

You say you are asking a rhetorical question. A rhetorical question is one that is just that...rhetorical, and an answer is NOT expected from it. Get it? Secondly, marriage between family members is AGAINST THE LAW whether or not reproduction is an issue. So move on to something else.

brother and sister? or cousins? if it were a really close family member, they call it ins est, and i do believe it is against the law, and frowned upon. think cousins have married in the past, especially in the last century and it didn't seem to be an issue than. found this out when doing genealogy. but there is such a stigma attached to marrying a sister or brother that i would think it would cause u problems if people knew.

I would be. I think that the point of marriage is to connect yourselves and make yourselves a part of eachother's family. If you're already related.....aside from the fact that I just can't comprehend a marriage with any of my family members, what would be the point?

Assuming that you view marriage as a connection between two people to make themselves part of a family, this wouldn't make sense.

There are many brothers and sisters who spend an entire life together unmarried. However, this is not what you are wondering is it? You want to know if it is O.K. to be together and have sex too, right? You failed to mention the relationship, bro-sis, Mom-son, dad-daughter, cousin-cousin. I know that saying this is sick is not an alternative to you (but it is), however, I am interested, no, intrigued, by your situation. It would make for a great pseudo-psycho analysis.

Yes I wouold be opposed to it, especially considering that incest is illegal. And not to mention just sick and wrong. I grew up with 2 brothers and no sisters, but that would be saying if I had a sister, and I married my sister, that's just wrong. God created marriage and it was not to be between a brother and sister.

I guess it would depend how close a family member they were. Like if they are 3rd generation cousins or something like that it may be okay. Not ok though if they were close or immediate family. That would be a definate no no. I'm sure no-one would even consider that anyway.

It is morally reprehensible to think about marring your relative. All your families is going to shun you off. Why you don't you go out with a person you are not family with. You are not telling the truth but it seem it's you. Get counseling before you hurt some one. It is incest no one is going to accept you.
