I am 14 years old. And my future carrer is to be a psychologist .I told my mother to find me a mentor but the guy she found didnt want to talk to me about it.I think is because he thinks that since i am young i could be a bandit or a bad person ,but thats not true ,cause the only thing i want is a mentor to teach me things and talk to me about being a psychologist. What can i do?

Talk to your teacher or career guidance counsellor.

be patient. it is often that adults don't appreciate the minds of young adults. the truth is they all can learn a thing or two from your age group. adults tend to forget how they were when they were young, and how they swore to themselves that they would never be like the adults in their life. That guy probably isn't a very good psychologist anyway to blow you off like that. depend on yourself and not some old bitter man, and you will be able to pursue anything you wish. best of luck

Is there a school psychologist you can speak to? that person will be more likely to field your questions.

Also, you can contact the psychology department at a local college and speak to someone there.

If this guy doesn't want to help you, it is not about you, it is about him.

Good luck
