I've heard this is a Cult Movie from the mid-80's (?) where can I buy it from?

i dont know if you can buy it, but it is a classic cult film one of the best films i've ever seen. its a surreal journey inside the head of a former special forces operative who had a nervous breakdown in vietnam and now believes hes in charge of the mental hospital hes sent to. the 9th configuration is to do with dna, after the 9th configuration of DNA life formed. its a bizzare film and has a bizzare twist but very enjoyable.

I remember seeing it years ago. It was produced, written, and directed by William Peter Blatty, who wrote the novel "The Exorcist."
It didn't make much of an impression on me then.
