a) your good intentions for doing whatever you did, or
b) the actual results of your actions?

@ NHBaritone: It's funny how when you ask an a-or-b question, a number of the answers will be qualified in some fashion. I'm always fascinated by how reluctant people are to pick a side and say "this is what makes sense," or "this is where I stand." (Myself not excepted, at least some of the time.)

The result,,,,,everyone remembers how things turned out

Since another person isn't likely to know your intentions, they have a much better chance of remembering your action and it's results.

How they feel because of your action is something they will remember even longer than they remember the action.

b) the actual results of your actions, but even though your result might cause conflict or disaster, people SHOULD more likely remember your good intentions for doing it.

usually intentions whether good or bad remain inside ones mind and therefore are private, while the result is out there in living color for all the world to experience.so id say usually its the result that is remembered.

Interesting question. I wonder what you intended by asking it. The answer is so obvious, you must have a point, but I must admit it escapes me.

Anyway:

B-ACTUAL RESULTS.
