Yes and no, your experience will depend on the type of person you are. If you believe in yourself and treat everyone else right, you will have no trouble, but if you change yourself by trying to be popular at the expense of others, then you will have to live with the guilt. Be who you are and don't let others tell you how to be and you will survive and be a stronger person for it. Remember after high school comes college and that is a whole new viper pit.

I say it depends on your friends situation. If you have good friends who are loyal, supportive and kind, it will be easier because of the security you gain as you get older. You will become more comfortable in the social environment if you have friends to support you. Also, puberty will prove to be MUCH easier if you've got people to relate to and ask about (besides your parents, that is!)
If you don't feel like you've got a good, strong group of friends, I would say junior high is much easier. In junior high the workload is considerably less and you have more time for a social life, which is really when you should be developing it. In high school, if you haven't got a good group of friends, its harder to find one because the other groups of friends hold their relationships so tightly after many years together.

Yes
There are almost twice as many people, the teachers are less friendly, the rules are stricter, the cliques are more exclusive, the parties are stressful and endless. Im always worried how someone will take what i say or do and how it will affect me socially. You also dont travel to class with the same ppl so you have between 150-180 people in your classes vs the 25-30 from 8th grade. It is somthing that is very stressful at first just because of the brutal amount of work and play that has to be balanced just right and most ppl just fold and go one way or the other without trying to commpromise.

They can both suck, but junior high was harder for me because the Puberty Monster was rearing its ugly head and all those hormones and body changes...ugh. What a mess.
Junior high was just a whole lotta crazy, body felt weird and zits and growth spurts...it sucked. Plus, I was very boy-crazy but too chicken to do anything about it.
High school was better. MUCH better. Well, socially anyway. I hated having bronchitis when I was a junior (oh, the months of coughing!). But socially, it was easier. Everybody was more settled, more relaxed, you could drive and do your own thing a little more.

Probably, because you're older in high school, and the expectations for a social life, such as dating, belonging to the best organizations, and having the most influential friends is greater than in junior high. At least that's the mind set. If you're the one who's in high school, you don't have to be "one of the crowd". Just be yourself, study hard and get good grades. The friends you make will like you for yourself, and not judge you on your appearance, your clothes, or your popularity.

I think High School is more difficult for boys but less difficult for girls than Middle School. I think it has to do with when the hormones initially kick in.
