I want to install a shower in my basement, but don't want to trench the floor. Does anyone have any experience with pumps for shower drains? I need to know what my set-up should look like to drain the shower into a pump that sends the water to the main sewer line. What valves, vents and whatever do I need? Any help of alternative suggestions are very welcome. Thanks!

go to you local plumbing fixture store and you can buy an all in one shower with the pump built in they can be a bit on the expensive side. in the long run i think you will be very satisfied, they also make toilets that have built in pumps too. i wish you good luck if you need more info contact me and I'll find a supplier for you, i have a friend in the business

You would need to raise the shower several inches above floor level to have a drain tank underneath. Inside the tank you can install a pump to deliver the water into the drain as required.

A sump pump might work, but I would worry about the 110 volt pump working in that situation.
