Click your Start button, click Run. Type in "msconfig" (no quotes) and hit OK. Click the Startup tab and try to locate the program that is causing the error message. Usually if you look at the end of the "Command" column you can find the file name that Windows claims it can't find. Once located, just uncheck it and hit OK. Oh, note that if you can't see the end of the command line, you can expand the size of the column. Just hover your mouse over the boundary between the columns and drag it over. Make sure you pay attention to what you're unchecking so if you uncheck the wrong item, you can go back and re-check it if necessary. Once you're done, reboot and see if that error message is gone.

There might be a lot of programs running at the same time.Check performance of your computer....if you're using winxp;hit on Control,Alt,Delete keys on your keyboard all at the same time to access Device Manager. On performance tab, check the CPU usage. It should not go beyond 6%.if it does, you need to check the list of programs installed & uninstall what you don't really need.check also that you only have 1 anti-virus installed.2 anti-virus installed freezes your computer.

Could be spyware. Check out ad-aware and spybot on www.download.com. Also run a good anti-virus program. It could be too many running processes as mentioned before by the other comments. Another option is that your processor is over-heating. Try cleaning your heat sink or checking the fan on your processor. Could be any of these. If you try these solutions to no avail, try a system restore process. Good Luck, JD

You have things running in the background, you usually dont know there running unless there is an icon in the lower right corner. You might have to many things going at once. Try disableing a few and see what happins. To do this, click START-RUN (you get a command prompt) type in MSCONFIG hit enter. Disable a few things that you dont normally use. Should help.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.

Mine does that a lot too. It could be because the memory is almost full so it slows it down.
