I personally like them both, but if I had to chose converse. They are classic and some have really cool designs. Vans are more edgy so if thats what you're looking for there perfect.

prison issue is a knock-off from the original.
If you want different patterns, Journeys usually has some pretty cool ones. I have a black pair, a pink with "Chuck Taylor" written all over them in green and maroon, and another pair with a really weird pattern on it.

but i'd have to go with the converse because im not a big fan of the prison issue's.
