Check to see if there is a Christian Ministries organization in your area. Generally, you have to have some amount of the rent ... you fill out an application and they will determine how much financial help you are able to receive. You'll need a statement from your landlord as to how much rent you pay every month. If you are approved, you'll need to bring the remaining amount of rent to the Christian Ministries center. In turn, they will give you a check or a receipt to give to your landlord, who can come to the center and collect the entire amount of the rent. You aren't required to pay this money back, but some areas may require that you put in so many hours community service.

Considering that you both work (even if its only part-time for him) and you receive government assistance, you need to look into your expenses and see where you can cut back. Also, you might want to consider finding another apartment with lower rent. There are plenty of apartments that base your rent on your income or let you file for "Section 8". Encourage your husband to continue looking for a full-time job or to get another part-time one ... even if its something like McDonalds or a convenience store, every little bit of extra money coming in would help!

your husband could be working every day. places like labor-ready and manpower, or any temp agency. these places have offices all over the country, and will pay daily (a draw).

a draw from these places is about forty bucks a day (for eight hours) with balance paid weekly or every other week. that's 360 before rent is due. should be enough to hold off the wolves awhile.

one thing i used to do for good money fast: everyday moving vans load up or unload some families belongings. drivers always hire a helper. good money to be had here. just gotta track them down. hit the local truckstop. call the van company. wages (and possible share of the tip) should make you nearly a hundred a day, easy. it is generally heavy work and you need to be clean respectable and hard working. do a few of these jobs and the van companies will be calling you with more work.

Try selling some stuff in your house (furniture, electronics, jewelry...a roof over your head for your kids is much better than those items)...also, think ebay!

Go to those job places where if you work that day, you get paid the same day.

If you have any credit cards, you can take cash out on the remaining balance to pay for your rent. Just go to any bank and you can request a cash advance

How can your husband make less than minimum wage? isn't that the point? See if he can get another job for minimum wage, or even sales.

Often there are church organizations in your area that will help. But, they ussually need an eviction notice to do so.
Can he pick up a second pt job?. Even if it is fast food, retail, etc. it is additional income.
Seriously, I do not mean to be harsh. but there really is work. Temps, labor ready etc.
