I moved into an older home about a month ago. I have since been told ghost story after ghost story about my house and have brushed it off. The other night my two year old woke me up when I fell asleep on the couch at five am she said my room was noisy. When I was fully awake she stated that a ghost came out my closet and told her to get out my house. If this had of been any of the other children it would not bother me, but because it was a two year old who has no such information on ghosts and things like that it really bothers me. Now I have not heard any strange noises and I have not personally seen anything, but I have often heard that ghosts and spirits will often be seen by innocent children over adults. Is there a sight where I can check more into this? please someone help me.

yes, honey, there are spirits. the more you let them bother you, the more they will. i have and my family have had many experiences. i believe the place is american hauntings. tell it to go to the light and pray! see who lived there before that would want you to leave. there might be some things they left or wants to have it stay the same as they had it. so many ways to see this. do not make this a strong issue in front of the children, believe them though. see what they tell you. maybe for your peace of mind, since you have not been there long, move. let someone have this. some other people can explain it better than i. but they are there. they need to go to the light. pray that they will go.

I think ghost show themselves to children more often than adults because children are innocent of any preconceptions. If this entity is bothering your child, I would suggest you have a "house cleansing" done by someone who has experience with this sort of thing. Generally, the person will walk through each room of the house with a smudge stick (made of sage) telling the entity that it's ok to move on, or at the very least, inviting it to stay if it behaves. The person also reassures the entity that the new tenants are not there to hurt them in anyway. The sage smudge does the cleansing.
Also, placing crystals at doorways and windows protects from any unwanted visitors.
A house blessing by a clergy may also do the trick. Hope this helps.

Obviously your two year old has been " told " the same bogus nonsense you have. I must assume that the child was there and privy to the same info you were. You often heard that ghosts visit innocent children more than adults? Sounds like your sources are rather too close together. There are no such things as ghosts, whatever else could be happening here.

I would go to your closet and tell the ghost to go to the light. It may sound crazy but it may work. If your child knows the name of the ghost use it's name when telling it to leave. Also, don't show angry towards the ghost that may just upset it, but also I would have your home exercised just in case, especially if it is threatening you and your family to leave. Best of luck!

I dont know where you live but alot of times, they have local chapters of ghost hunters. You might type in your city and see if there is anyone available. If not im sure you can find more information on where to look. And looking into old records may give you a better idea of who had your house before and what happened there.Good luck.

I think it sounds possible.

Now, as far as the helpful people who told you, can you just ask them why they think so?

Like what is supposed to have happened there? I would think they would be glad to tell you, cause people love to share things like that!

And it might end up with some interesting conversations over coffee while you're getting to know you're neighbors.

Also, like another answerer has said, and I was going to say, town records!

They're great for telling you what's what. In the meantime don't be scared. With him around, you've always got company, and the reason why they are staying might just be as simple as that for them, too! Enjoy em'.

I definately believe you have ghosts. I lived with ghosts in a house for several years. They were friendly but liked to freak me and my roomates out. I don't know where you can go for advice, however. Just take your daughter seriously!!!

I think that maybe your child heard one of the ghost stories and has embellished on it a bit. If the ghost wanted you to get out of the house, I think it would have told you.

Children pick up a lot of things like, "get out of my house."
