No because most of the rich people I have met are pricks and I wouldnt want to live in a neighborhood with them.

I live in the country, but have lived in gated regulated communities before. It's done for the safety of the residents and there is nothing wrong with it.

It has its pros and cons. People think its very she-she-foo-foo. The neighborhood covenants restrict you and your neighbors from having trash, high weeds, etc. in your yard. It keeps the property values up and your neighborhood looking nice. Your neighbor can't park the RV in the front yard so it blocks your view of the mountains. The security is nice -- no riff raff wandering the streets and bombing your mailbox. No solicitors -- that's nice.

Cons - well, at least in my neighborhood. I can't leave my boat out in the summer. I have to back it into my garage after every outing. That's a pain in the butt. Also, I hate the little pink notes that get left on my front door if my grass is looking a little brown.

Overall, I like it, but there are days where I'd like to take that little pink note and....
