I have a 20 gallon aquarium with the following fish:
2 Dalmation Mollies
4 (Blue) Neon Tetras
3 (Gold) Neon Tetras
4 Tiger Barbs

Do i have too many fish in my tank and are they too crowed? If i do have to many, what do i do? Also, don't worry since i have a school of tiger barbs they do not pick on the tetras and always keep to themselves. Thank you!

You should be fine with those fish, just don't add more. Rule of thumb is 1 gallon of water per 1 inch of fish at ADULT size, leavcing out 5-6 gallons for rocks, filter, decorations, etc.

Your tiger barbs may grow to about 6" Do not add any more fish. 1" to 1 gallon. Adult size. Volume really doesn't matter so much with decorations and all. They do not displace that much water. however your Tetras will not grow to be that large. Watch for babies however. Mollies will eat the barb babies. (If you have any). If you intend to get more fish....your water changes will have to be more frequent as well as keeping your eye on your nitrate levels. They do have a nitrate sponge which helps for over crowding.

If the fish are still young I'd say your ok, but when your barbs grow up your tank will be overcrowded with the current fish.

Sounds like a good amount of fish. I wouldn't get more though, the one's you have will grow, except for maybe the tetras.

The rule is one inch of fish per gallon of water. You sound like you should have it about right.

I have always heard that the rule of thumb is one inch of fish per gallon of water; it sounds like you should be fine.

It my book if it looks crowded it is crowded. If you have relatively few plants and decorations then you should be fine. I always tend to have have just a few fish.
