The 350 Chevy small block is still a standard in the stock and performance interests.
If your car wasn't stollen for joyriding or crime use, it was probably taken for it's engine/parts
Sorry about your misfortune.

Sadly - criminals are somewhat intelligent. New anti-theft devices are like toys to them. Now that the "club" has been out for awhile, most crooks know how to get them off.
88 Chevy Caprice's are really popular cars to fix up with big rims, stereo systems, and crazy "candy coated" paint jobs. They are fast (or can be) and are seen as "cool" to most of the younger hip-hop crowd.

There's some real desperate crackheads out there. The club is easy to take off, really. You need a lock cutter though, or something else to cut the wheel, then it comes right off. Hope you had insurance, if not, save up another $300 and buy yourself another car.

to remove the club there are a few tricks, liquid nitro ,one drop on lock and it breaks with a hammer,(loud and expensive) the most common way is to saw the steering wheel, bend it a little and its off, most likely it was stolen because it they either needed parts for their car or they want to use it for a crime. older car are easy to hot wire because they have no real security features like chipped keys

why would they steel it? a rear wheel drive car that has potential with a big block chevy engine. How could they get the club off? with a hack saw very easily.
