Try to find a college that's a perfect fit for you. You're asking the right question. Check this web page for a start...
http://www.ctcl.com/why/index.htm
and then this one...
http://www.ctcl.com/quick_links/students.htm
Be sure to read the sections titled "Common Misperceptions" and "FAQ".
If anything there really grabs you, it's worth buying the inexpensive little book, which has MUCH more about the 40 schools. At the very least, this will help you to be clearer in your own mind about what you want, and don't want, in a college.
Good luck. With a 4.0 and, I'm sure, a great SAT score, you'll get in pretty much anywhere you want. That fact makes it all the more important to choose the right ones.

Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. It is a small liberal arts college and it is fantastic! When I was there, there were parties, but you'll find those everywhere. You don't have to participate in that aspect of college if you don't want to, but it's there if you want it! Witt is great because the faculty to student ratio is wonderful and you can really have an opportunity to work closely with your advisor. The campus is beautiful and undergoing lots of great improvements right now. Check it out! People from all over the country attend!

What are you looking for in a school? Things to consider are whether you want to go to a college or a university, location, weather, tuition, size, different programs they offer that would help with your major, what are the schools rankings, extracurricular activities and whether is an HBCU or not. Also what do you have to offer the school. But I would have to say that my school, Fisk University is a good school. Its a small liberal arts school in Nashville,Tn. It is a very close-knit family. If you want to know more info check out the website: www.fisk.edu.

You really have to do more work here first. Visit www.collegeboard.com, www.princetonreview.com, and consider purchasing the Fiske Guide to Colleges (latest available edition...o find at local/school library.)
What would you like to study? (liberal arts? pre-professional like law, pre-med, etc.?) Do you want a big school, or a smaller one? City, suburban, rural? Warmer weather or "mixed seasons?" More conservative or more liberal? One that has fraternities and sororities, or one that doesn't?
There are thousands of colleges in the country and as it stands your question is simply too broad.
