good question. People dont value the "soul" equally. I believe a soul is present in a chicken as it is in a human. The world should be vegetarian.

If you open an egg and it doesn't have a bit of blood around the yolk, it's because it was sterile and no chicken will ever come out of it. So mos eggs humans eat are sterile.
And people, like any other animal, has a strong instinct to protect it's own species, so abortions are instictively a big deal for us. Besides, part of protecting our species is eating healthy, so eating eggs is instinctively a very good thing for us.
So it is a matter of instinct.
Oh yes, and eggs taste good! (fetuses not so much)
Oh, but the best answer has GOT to be "i think the french invented omelets"..... Damn cheese eating chicken murderers!
And another thing, if you're a vegetarian: Don't you think the carrots are alive too??? haven't you given any though to all the carrot's children that are left without a father?

Some say potato some say potahtow. I understand what you are asking here, but this is what you have.
Most people make value judgments on life by classifying different species. Some consider thing such as chicken as being low on the pecking order (no pun intended) in the chain of life.
We as a species have been doing this for quite some time. Look at how the white race has even treated colored skin races as being inferior.
Gandhi once said "you can judge a society by the way it treats its animals". I think its a matter of respect.
Dr. Albert Schweitzer once stated that the difference between good and evil, is good nurtures and promotes all life and evil does the opposite.

We do not eat baby chicks. The eggs we get are not fertilized. The babies involved in abortions are however real and alive. Abortion is a very very heated subject and I will leave it at that.

Well, the answer to the chicken question is that in the Bible God gave us animals for food. (this was directly after the flood in Genesis)
The answer to the babies question is because ppl have no sense of morals or values anymore.
It's a baby when you want a baby, but only a fetus when you don't ppl think that their rights are MORE IMPORTANT than the unborn. Judges agree and that is how they get away with it.

Hey, good question! BUT are you comparing Humans with Chickens? I hope NOT!
There is a group in California who believes, "PIGS ARE PEOPLE TOO!" They protest the Honey Baked Ham places weekly with Pictures of Slaughtered Pigs.
Humans are made in the image of GOD, but animals are not. May I respectfully submit that Americans have Murdered over 35-Millions babies in the Name of Freedom?
Those lives have been replaced with OTHERS that have come to this country, Some Desirable, Some NOT!
Thanks, RR

Becuase the life of the chicken is insignificant compared to the life of a human being. Ultimatley, humans have to eat, and eggs are eaten all the time.
You can't compare the life of a chicken to a human being.

I grew up on a farm. We had our own chickens. We never ate the fertile eggs. There for not eating unhatched chicks. Chicken farmers do not sell fertile eggs.
I agree that abortion is not acceptable. I think that any one who takes their own child's life has no regard for life at all, except maybe their own and only their own.

The eggs we use for ingesting, as in an omlette, are actually not fertilized, hence there is not any chick (hatched or unhatched) it incredibly is killed. next time you desire to attempt to make considered one of those comparsion, learn slightly approximately what you're evaluating abortion to first.
