If you think Theisman wasn't a quality player you are either too young or simply ignorant. I was watching that game and during live play the cameras caught the sound of the break and the immediate reaction of everybody watching was utter shock and we were holding our breath. There was no need for replay. We all knew what happened. That was far and away the worst injury I've ever observed in a football game. The two situations don't even compare.

Joe Theisman, it ended his career a comeback was not possible, Jr Seau has made 3 attempts to get his career back on track and next year he'll be back again.

Worst in terms of what? Most gruesome would have to be Joe Theisman, plus Theisman's ended his *career*, not just his season.

Well, I guess I just answered the question. :-)

Its a tie between Joe Theismans undesirable leg injury and the time that Howard Cosell introduced for the time of a Patriots Dolphins game on Monday night soccer that John Lennon were shot and killed.

Of the two, it is Theisman without a doubt.

I still think Willis McGahee's knee injury is the nastiest though.

Theisman. That leg snapped in half and the bone came out of the skin. Gruesome. I sae Juniors break on tv, and it was bad, but not nearly as bad.
