I have a movie file on my computer that is hidden, and some how it's protected and I can't delete it!! I want it off my computer but I can't find a way to get around whatever is blocking me from deleting it. Anyone have an idea how to get rid of this thing?

I tried to unhide it but it won't allow me to do that either. It keeps saying Access Denied.

First, reboot your computer. Then locate the file, right click on it and select properties, be sure that the 'Read Only' box is not checked. Select 'Ok'. Then try to delete it.

It sounds like you have logged onto a puter that requires administrator rights to modify files. Very common if it's your parents puter and you are logged in as a user not an admin. If you can, logoff and sign in as an admin or get them to do this for you. Now try deleting the file again. If that does not work, reboot into safe mode. Delete the file and reboot normally. Good luck.

Boot your computer into safe mode with the command prompt. Once there, go to the folder that contains that file, and type in:

DEL filename.ext (and hit enter).

Obviously you will substitute the real filename and extension in the above command.
