I recently had to start on birth control because my boyfriend and I had a lot of problems with condoms breaking and I've had to take plan b (the morning after pill) four times now, which I'm not sure is safe. I know birth control isn't effective until a month after you've started taking it, so I went and got plan b when the condom broke two nights ago. But I continued with taking my birth control normally. Is it okay to mix the two? Also, is it dangerous to take plan b too much? I know it's not for regular use, it says it's for emergencies only but unfortunately I've had four of these stupid condom breaks so I've had no choice but to take it. But I'm really scared that it isn't good for my health.

Plan B is a concentrated type of BCP's hormones.Seriously you need to have a better form of birth control like "shots "or the "cervical ring" .But more importantly your "boy friend" needs some education himself,it's not just up to you to be careful ,that's his responsibility too,but you'll be the one left holding the "baby" if he doesn't.. Take care. SW RNP

I think you should fork out the money for some better quality condoms. And remember that they do have a shelf life. The material deteriorates over time which would explain the frequent breaking. Are these the condoms that your boyfriend has had in his wallet since he was 12? You'd better check.

As for your double dose of bc, it will probably make your periods more irregular. I'm not sure it will affect anything else like the liver or other organs. If you have any questions, you should probably ask the doctor who prescribed the pills to you if there would be any adverse effects from taking PlanB too often and, especially, in conjunction with another contraceptive pill.

Good luck. =)

You had better get better condoms or go on a different kind of birth control. Those pills affect your hormones and it can do damage to you.

3 weeks in the past, the FDA stated that Plan B became secure sufficient to be offered over the counter. 2 hours later, the top of the well being & Human centers overturned their determination and saved the 17 age shrink. One justification is that minors might desire to apply it in a unfavourable trend, i.e. that they might have intercourse. To think of that minors will *not* have intercourse because of the fact they might't get Plan B is ludicrous; and that they might desire to take transport of the alternative, IMO.

Have you started gaining weight uncontrollably, yet? That could be one of the side effects when taking the morning after pill too often.
