i'm being induced this monday, and i have a bad cold. i've been on antibiotics for a uti, so i know its not any type of infection, but its a bad head/chest cold. what do they do when you deliver and you have a cold? do you have to wear a mask when with the baby? this is the last thing a newborn needs, this is bad enough for me. what do they do when you have a baby and you're sick??

Make sure you breastfeed! Nursing will give your baby antibodies to whatever it is that you have. This will help keep baby healthy.

They'll most likely give you a little bottle of waterless hand cleaner. Make sure to keep your hands clean. I know it will be hard, but if you're still sick you might try hard not to kiss all over baby since you will pass germs.

you poor thing you haven't delivered yet??? i was told if you are sick with a cold or anything you'llstill be able to hold your baby and stuff becuz whatever you got your babs got too. ask your dr if it would be ok to take tylenol cold my dr told me it would be fine for me. most likely it will be gone by monday though. most colds only last a few days. i was sick forever. just as soon as i'd get well bam a few days later i'd be sick again. this lasted for like 2 months. hopefully you won't catch whatever we all had.

When I had my second child I had a cold, laryngitis, the works. They did nothing special for me and surprisingly my baby never caught it. I was mad about the laryngitis thing because I wanted to scream.
