As an original Led Zep fan (got the first album for Christmas 1969), I advise the following:
Why waste time?
Go ahead and pop for the "Led Zeppelin Box Set" . . . you'll love nearly every song on it, youi'll already know at least half of the songs from listening to Classic Rock radio, and you'll have an essential part of any music fan's collection.
Of course, you'll end up getting "Boxed Set 2", and then you'll have their entire studio recordings, remastered by Jimmy Page; expect to keep all 6 discs in heavy rotation for the foreseeable future.
Admittedly, this is kind of a large investment, but Led Zeppelin is one of the very few Sure Things that have come along in the 43 years since The Beatles changed the course of my young life, so I feel I can safely recommend getting it all right away. No matter how many times you hear the songs, there's always something new to notice; this is why the Zep are a true staple of the Classic Rock genre.
Welcome to the club, and enjoy ! ! !

I've been a Led Zeppelin fan ever since I was 14, when I heard my very 1st song which was "All Of My Love" - totally fell for Robert.
Went 2 a Robert Plant concert in
Austin ,Tx. @ the Frank Erwin Cntr.
Joan Jett opened up. I remember
I had 12th row. the only thing that sucked is that I had floor SEAT ,
& the bouncer guy kept taking me down off my chair!!! -Anyway.
Plus I did roadie-work 4 Jason Bonham in '97. -LOVE YA TONY!!!
Guess ya can say I'm officially LED ZEPPELIN affilliated.

I am only 21 so Zeppelin was before my time, yet since I love hard rock I know how important Zeppelin was in its development that I instinctively like them. Compared to the stuff I usually listen to, they actually don't sound too good, but still I know they virtually created hard rock. Jimmy Page, excellent on guitars, and their drummer was fabulous too. But Zeppelin is really among the only older bands I like, the others being Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, Soundgarden, and Nirvana because I live in Washington so I am somewhat partial to Chris Cornell and Kurt Cobain.

I was in my younger years but now my son who is 18years old and has a band, had rediscovered the talents of Led Zep. When he plays the songs, it takes me down to memory lane. I am greatful that my son and yourself appreciate the beauty of the past in discovering the music as as you go along you will also discover our time period which will give a sense of understanding your parents and other older people also known as "baby boomers" generation.
If you have a LIMEWIRE or ITUNES you can browse and listen some of their hits songs that you may like and you may even find other groups in the same genre.

Still considered the best song of all time "Stairway To Heaven" and one of my all time favorites "Kashmir". You got good taste, this is an amazing band. Listen to the drummer, there is no one that can beat the skins like John Botham. When he died, that was the end of Zeppelin, but the music will last forever.

omg i'm a BIG FAN. Whole Lotta Love is great. Ok, i would recommend a couple albums. First of all, "Early Days" is one of their albums and is has all of their greates hits combined in it. Another great album is Led Zeppelin 2 and 3. Their great. The rest are ok, but those are my real favorite. Those are their best albums.
