Mass and volume are determined by how much of a substance you have. Doubling the amount will double the mass and volume. Density is the ratio between mass and volume d = m/v and remains constant, no matter how much of the substance you have. This can be seen by using equivalent fractions:

If you have 1 gram of substance and the volume it takes up is 2 cubic centimeters, then the density of the substance is .5 grams/cubic centimeter. (1 gram/2 cubic centimeters)

If you double the amount of the substance and now have 2 grams which take up 4 cubic centimeters, you have doubled the mass and volume. However, the density remains the same at .5 grams/cubic centimeter. (2 grams/4 cubic centimeters)

We can see this in the ratio expressed as equivalent fractions:

1/2 = 2/4

Because both mass and volume depend on how much you have of the substance. Density is the ratio of mass and volume so it will not change even as the amount changes.
D=m/v
If you increase the mass the volume will also increase and the ratio will remain the same (we are not considering compression).
