If the early detecteion test says you can take it up to 4 days early and you take 5 days early, does that really make a difference in the results?

Yes it could make a difference. The at home tests are looking for the pregnancy hormone HCG in your pee. If you take a home test too early, there may not be enough HCG yet for it to come out positive.

Yes, it can. HCG doubles every 72 hours, so a day can make a big difference. I know it is insanely frustrating, but wait it out. Plus, even if you are pregnant and take a test 4 days early as recommended, the test might still be negative. It happened to me a few weeks ago .... 3 days later, I got a positive! Buy a few extra tests and try to be patient! Good luck!

Each day early has a lower percentage of being correct, so yeah, if you test 5 days early there may not be much of a percentage for an accurate result. But, some women can test the day they missed their period and get a negative when they are in fact PG. It just depends on how much HCG your body produces.

Those tests are only 60% accurate when used even one day before your missed period. They simply just dont work well.

You see, from the moment of implantation your body starts producing the HCG hormone, theres generally not a surge in that hormone until AFTER you miss your period, since it must surge to stop you from having that period and flushing out the new baby. Some women dont even have enough HCG hormone until theyre a couple WEEKS late for their period. Only a very few women have enough hormone to be detected before a missed period.

Its best to wait until you're late for your period and then test.

probably. if you could take it 5 days early. it would say that you could. but then you would have probably taken it 6 days early.

Sort of. It just means that there might not be enough pregnancy hormones to detect, and it would be better to follow the instructions to get a better result.

24 hours will not make that big of a difference. Your hormones will keep producing the horrmone that tells your body you are pregnant. So it will increase in 24 hours but usually not by a lot.

It could because you will have less of the detectable hormone in your system.
