Yes, he needs to be in the spotlight since his political career is over. That is why he jumped on the global warming bandwagon.

Cooling won't happen in Gore's lifetime. There is much scientific consensus that global warming is real. Exxon Mobil hired a small group of shills to promote the idea that there was no global warming.

"Exxon Mobil Corp. gave $16 million to 43 ideological groups between 1998 and 2005 in a coordinated effort to mislead the public by discrediting the science behind global warming, the Union of Concerned Scientists asserted today."

Like Al Gore is the only person who notes the global warming facts. Like global warming is something Al Gore dreamed up.

Oh, the earth has a cycle, and enters a "cooling phase?" And this warming is not at all due to human activity?

Well, then, we can go right ahead and dump all the greenhouse gases we want into the atmosphere, then, and not worry a bit.

Deniers, gotta love 'em.

If there is even a chance he is right and even if he is not would it be such a bad thing to convert to a source of energy we do not need the threat of thermonuclear war to maintain . Cut down on the amounts of pollution from coal fired plants and install scrubbers seems people living in and around these operations report levels of increased lung problems at 300 times the national averages and plants have bought out neighborhoods and settled law suites to continue to pump these harmful polutants into the air we all must breath .At what point does it become toxic for all of us . Thats the gamble i like to take . Lets continue to poison the air till more people start droping dead adn then only do something about it if more then say 1% are dieing . Thats after all an exceptable level right .

No, because he's talking about humanity's impact on the environment, not about Earth cycles. It is a proven fact that humans have had a lasting impact on our world, and that temperatures are rising much faster than they would during normal periods of warming.

We will continue to adapt to our environment, and our environment will continue to adapt to us, but if you honestly believe that a cooling phase is right around the corner and that it will solve anything, you're more deluded than you think Al Gore is.
