It has been said by Hollywood experts, directors etc, to be Citizen Kane. Their reasoning, I do not know.
I find The Passion to be extremely well done.. a bit of genious in the respect it was filmed in the ancient language of Aramaic.... that evry person around the world with be able to see in their own language subitles- besides it will always ne 'the greatest story ever told'.

The Film that won the most oscar awards is The lord of the rings- The return of the king. It won 14 oscar awards. And Titanic also won the same. But The Lord of the rings Trilogy did much much more Business than titanic and any other film made in the history of Hollywood. I dont know the exact amount but its nearly 219 million $.
So. In Descending order, the top three movies are,
1) Lord of the Rings- The return of the King
2)Titanic
3)Lord of the Rings - Two towers.

I'd probably say Schindler's List. I loved the book and this is probably why I loved the film. The film made me wish that it were not based on a true story because the film-makers did not try, in any way, to disguise the awful truth about the Holocaust.

I don't know about the greatest film ever. It's so subjective...
But, if you are looking for a good movie to watch, and trying to get ideas from other people, I'd tell you my favorite movie ever that I can watch over and over again is "Love and Sex", starring Famke Jenssen and Jon Favreau.
